Young Minds

Music and Drama in the Classroom

Young Minds in the Classroom works with schools and child care centres to enrich students' daily learning through the arts. Young Minds programs bring creative and dynamic music and drama workshops into the classroom to supplement educators' current artistic and creative endeavours. Our fully interactive programs are designed to promote the arts as a way to foster creative expression, social and emotional development, and early literacy skills. Above all, our primary goal is to inspire a love of music and drama in our students.

Our programs are developed to fulfill the Ontario curriculum expectations for the arts and all workshops are designed and run by Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT).

WORKSHOP OPTIONS:

Young Minds provides a variety of workshop options that are designed to work within a regular classroom schedule. Our programs include packages of three or five workshops (45 minutes - 1 hour) or after-school programs (1 hour - 1.5 hours).

All materials are provided by Young Minds unless otherwise indicated.

The needs of every school or child care centre are unique and our programs can be tailored to suit these needs. Please contact us directly at elissa@youngminds.ca to set up a consultation and request a quote.

"Great 3-day workshop! Students learned how to read music, created music with instruments and with their bodies, and learned that music and emotions go hand-in -hand. I loved the group work since it really engaged the students and encouraged full participation."

"Great presentation style and very engaging. The students really learned a lot about notes, beat and rhythm. The kids really enjoyed it! Even special needs students could participate!"
